'Saw 8' Can Happen 'Someday,' States Lionsgate

Horror franchises never really die, will they? Based on Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns, the torture porn franchise 'Saw' might be creating a return -- for that eighth time. Within an interview with CNBC, Burns -- who had been there to go over the possibility merger between Lionsgate and rival studio Summit -- revealed Lionsgate's approaching slate of films, which might eventually include 'Saw.' "I am sure, at some point, you will see 'Saw' in the image,Inch stated Burns. The 'Saw' franchise has made almost one half-billion dollars locally, so no real surprise the studio would want to consider a different one. The final film, 'Saw three dimensional,' made $136 million worldwide. [via CNBC and Bloody Disgusting] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
